studied flute and baroque flute at the Köln and Münster Musikhochschule, among others with Günther Höller and Konrad Hünteler. Besides this he also studied musicology at the Köln University. Since then intense activity in playing the baroque flute and classical flute. Besides being a member with Camerata Köln he is flutist with "La Stagione", Frankfurt/Main, and theFreiburger Baroque Orchestra. Together with these ensembles he has made numerous recordings.
As player of the modern flute he is a member of "Gruppe 7529 - Ensemble für Neue Musik" (Group 7529-Ensemble for Contemporary Music).
He is regularly holding interpretation courses and is teaching at the Freiburg and Frankfurt/Main University of Music and Performing Arts the subjects transverse and classical flute.
